Job Title:   Sr. Internal Auditor – Quality Systems

Requirements:  Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering or related field preferred, 5 years sailing under a Chief Engineer or Masters license, or equivalent education and experience. , Must be computer literate including all MS Office products, Excellent oral and written communications skills, ISM/ISO Lead Auditor certified, Extensive domestic and international travel. Must be physically fit to board vessels, climb ships tanks and structures in inclement weather, and perform audits while at sea.

Job Title:   Import-Export Documentation Coordinator

Description:  Ensures proper cargo documentation is in order through liaison with customers, brokers, railroads, US Customs regulations and company personnel.  Responsibilities include: Preparation of documentation including processing bills of lading and rail waybills, Assist in resolving customer enquiries and complaints, Correspond with customers, brokers, agents, freight forwarders and regulatory agencies, Prepares miscellaneous billings

Requirements:  Minimum 2 years shipping documentation experience (Rail/Ocean shipping experience preferred), Some college coursework or equivalent education and experience, Ability to work after hours, holidays and weekends when needed, Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word, Knowledge and/or experience in transportation/shipping software, i.e., RMI preferred. 

Job Title:   MPS Property Control Specialist

Description:  Responsible to maintain MPS Government Property Management records and systems to ensure continual accountability of Government and company property in accordance with applicable government regulations, contractual terms and conditions, and company policy.

Requirements:  Bachelors Degree in a business related field or equivalent education and experience.   Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years experience in property management, with specific skills in life-cycle management of movable assets.  Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain Secret Security clearance.  Ability to produce effective written documents, incorporating key language to ensure compliance with government regulations.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience in writing and issuing procedures, which provide effective and cost efficient life-cycle controls.  Demonstrated people skills to ensure effective communications with and training of Shipboard personnel.  Demonstrated skill in performing property control system audits identifying ineffective or cost prohibited methods and demonstrating commitment to a true partnership with the customer.  Professional certification from a certified body directly involved or indirectly connected with life-cycle management of assets. Experience with international operations and prior history of work in an ISO-9001 environment preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.

Job Title:   Port Captain

Description:  Responsible to ensure that vessels are operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory compliance and company standards.

Requirements:  Minimum five (5) years commercial port captain experience OR a minimum of five years seagoing experience as Master or  Chief Mate on a US Coast unlimited license OR  a combination of a Bachelors Degree in Marine Transportation with a minimum of three (3) years documented sailing experience on a U.S. Coast Guard unlimited license OR a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of ship operations and maintenance management.  Must be a U.S. Citizen capable of gaining secret security clearance.

Job Title:   Port Engineer

Description:  Responsible for the management and day-to-day oversight of vessel maintenance and reporting, including negotiating complex projects such as dry dock overhauls and other type repairs.  The position will liaison with Class, USCG and other regulatory bodies as needed to maintain vessel compliance with Class, Domestic and International law.

Requirements:  Bachelors Degree Marine Engineering preferred, or formal training and demonstrated competency in shipyard work specification writing and work package development experience that provides an equivalent level of knowledge of ship operations and maintenance management.  A minimum of five (5) years experience in the commercial maritime industry in either a shore side or shipboard engineering role.  Steamship experience is preferred.  Familiarity with marine/mechanical, electrical and structural engineering disciplines.

 

Shipboard Career Opportunities:
Shipboard positions are located on-board vessels. US Flag shipboard positions are scheduled by International Shipholding through the Unions listed below and International Flag shipboard positions are hired directly by International Shipholding. All shipboard positions are hired on a per-voyage basis. Examples of these positions include Cooks, Stewards, Deck Hands, Marine Engineers, Asst. Engineers, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Chief Mates.
